goodman + gloucester primary care trust
Background
Operating within the NHS, Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust (GPCT) was formed in 2006 to replace three former PCTs. It covers a wide area, serving a population of approximately 602,000 and occupying over 153 properties.
GPCT's objectives
With imminent lease expiries and new emerging business needs, the Trust were keen to bring many of their activities under one roof. In March 2007 Goodman was approached by GPCT and asked to deliver suitable accommodation. Occupation of the new facility was required by October 2008 and, in addition, short term accommodation for approximately 100 staff was required by July 2007.
The Goodman Solution
Goodman immediately approached existing occupiers to identify suitable short term office space as an interim solution whilst simultaneously progressing a planning application and detailed design for modern, flexible office space in. The building was completed on schedule and within budget allowing GPCT to take formal occupation of their completed and fitted out headquarters on 18 September 2008.
The result
Shortly after the move, Goodman's future-proof solution was put to the test when GPCT's space requirements increased from 20,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft. As predicted, the new office space was able to accommodate this requirement seamlessly within the existing scheme.
